This is a retrospective of photographic works by Hans van der Kamp (1955). For assignments and booking studio shoots, please check hansvanderkamp.com.

This site is basically a webshop, where you can purchase limited edition prints, softcover books and posters.

Van der Kamp is known for participating in (group and solo) exhibits based on the theme of erotic art. He stopped doing so for two reasons:

a/ As a society we seem to regress to outdated values. Thanks to specific apps like Tinder or Grindr, it was never so easy to have sex with random strangers. Yet, the same people using those apps are often quite easily upset, when confronted with depictions of nudity.

b/ It seems to have become normal for visitors of exhibits to photograph each and every work on the wall and posting them on Instagram, or some other social media. It would be nice if the works would be properly credited, as the law prescribes, but that is rarely the case.

If you do want to see recent works by Van der Kamp, you will find them in the Norden Magazines. Yes, these are printed magazines. If you are addicted to your smartphone, chances are that you will love them.

Guess what? You get to actually own what you paid for. Isn’t that totally absurd? And you know what is even crazier? You do not even have to sign away your privacy and you won’t be harassed with daily marketing emails after the purchase. And updates are simply new, complete issues. Without bugs, without battery draining attacks on your privacy.

It is brilliant in its concept, but we totally understand that freedom and literacy have slowly become an acquired taste for many.
